Amy Arnold van Gent, MD is the founder and Medical Director of Gentisse Cosmetic Surgery.  Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, she has been in private practice in Fort Lauderdale since 1997.

After graduation from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1989, Dr. van Gent completed a five year residency in General Surgery at St. Luke's in Cleveland, followed by a two-year Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at St. Louis University.  Drawn to Cosmetic Surgery of the face, she then finished a highly sought-after fellowship with Dr. Lawrence Robbins in Miami Beach.

In the early years of her practice, Dr. van Gent treated many types of patients, including those needing reconstructive surgery and repair of facial injuries.  Within a relatively short time, as her expertise in cosmetic surgery became widely recognized, the majority of her work consisted of performing all types of body contouring, facial rejuvenation, and cosmetic breast surgeries.  Since April 2004, Dr. van Gent has specialized exclusively in the area she enjoys most: cosmetic surgery of the face, neck, and hands.  Her surgical practice also includes Botox and injectable fillers, skin rejuvenation with the aid of experienced aestheticians, and beauty enhancement by permanent makeup artist Sarah Oliver. Mineral makeup and several lines of highly customizable and prescription skin care products are also available.
